Sri Chandrashekarendra Saraswati

His Holiness Sri Chandrashekarendra Saraswati Swamigal was the Paramacharya of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham from 1907 until 1994. Born on May 20, 1894, he was installed as the head seer of the Kanchi Math at the age of 13 and presided over an important period for the monastery and India as a whole. During his tenure, the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham gained new strength as a leading Hindu institution, propagating the teachings of Adi Shankara and espousing Vedanta philosophy. Sri Chandrashekarendra Saraswati was also very concerned with the preservation of the Vedas and Dharma Shastras. He attained samadhi in his centenary year in Kanchipuram.

Mamandram Magazine Launched

The Malaysia Hindu Dharma Mamandram (MHDM) is proud to launch the Mamandram Magazine, an online publication aimed at a global audience featuring various aspects of the world’s oldest religion and issues of interest to Hindus. As MHDM’s official publication, Mamandram Magazine will be published quarterly, with the first issue due out in October 2008. Along with articles and editorials about Hindu religion, culture, history and traditions, Mamandram Magazine will also be the primary media outlet for MHDM efforts and events.

The Mamandram Magazine aims to inform and educate Hindus worldwide on the eternal teachings of Hindu Dharma and to present a truthful and objective description of the religion to non-Hindus interested in learning about Hinduism. Recurring topics will include philosophy, scripture, culture, education, spirituality, yoga, Hindu saints and personalities, and relevant current events.
